I hate seeing all these quotes telling me who I should date and who I shouldn’t. Maybe I want to learn the ins and outs of a person and try to understand who they are before I worry about why they chose to act, or not act, a certain way. Maybe I've learned that assuming can feel like pressing down onto bare flesh just to watch a bruise form when you never intended of press that hard in the first place. Maybe what it takes to date is understanding, a clear mind, patience and time, with a dash of flexible expectations. Dating is meant to be right and wrong. It’s a process, not a competition.
