patience, dear...

wait
what am i even saying
you are a mystery—
never known
only explored,
forever transcending me.
remember me
all you can
but dont ever think
that my twists and turns
wont twist and turn.
i don’t promise any
“forevers”
ever,
but i can
give you me.
masked like a
phantom.
im a poet but
you leave me
so goddamn flustered
and ineloquent.
i can sit on
my lazy butt
or i can jog
my memory
from time immemorial.
what the fuckkkkk
even is love.
dont tell me
dont ask me
just love me
in whatever
way you want

sticks and stones...

Sticks and stones may break your bones
But words will hit you so hard
And break you into so many pieces
You’ll forget what you looked like whole.
Sticks and stones may break your bones
But words will leave you wondering
How deep you’d have to stab yourself with a stick
Or how hard you’d have to hit your head with a stone
To die.
Stick and stones may break your bones
But they will heal in given time.
A doctor will put a cast on your body
You’ll get “get well” cards
And sympathy smiles
And the bone will mend itself
And soon you’ll forget about the injury.
But theres no cure for words.
Because no one will see the injury at first.
But you’ll be able to feel the way they slowly start to eat away at your insides
Like ladybugs on roses
They will slowly kill the garden your mother planted when you were growing inside of her.
No one will notice until they find an empty bottle
or until you are swimming in a bathtub of red.
The doctor might be able to empty your stomach
or fix your wrists
But no matter how hard he tries
He’ll never be able to stitch up your heart.
You wont get any cards
Or receive any flowers
Instead you’ll get looks and whispers that scream
“Attention whore!”
You’ll get countless of psychiatrist
And a rainbow of prescriptions
But none of them will ever truly heal you.
And the scars might fade away some day
But you’ll never forget the injury.
You’ll never forget the insults from the 3rd grade
Or last week at work.
You’ll never forger the way peoples words
Will leave you gasping for air
Because words feel like a punch to the stomach
That you can never quite recover from.
Sticks and stones may break your bones
But words will never harm you
They will DESTROY you.

3am...

black tears...

she wiped the black spilling
from her eyelashes
onto her cheek,
and in that moment,
i wanted,
i needed,
for magic to exist.
i wanted to peel back
her lonely skin and
feel her sadness
stare straight into
the blue inside my eyes.
i wanted and i needed
it to know that i,
i loved her too,
and my god,
i would fight for her.

beautiful...

there's something
beautiful in the fact that
someone could know
everything about you
-the way you laugh,
how you look
when you cry,
the way you sing
off-key and
dance to your
favorite song,
your random thoughts
that always sound
slightly crazy,
your hopes and dreams
and your secret passions,
all your little quirks,
and even the deepest,
darkest part of
your soul that you hide
away from the rest of
the world and somehow
they still love your
fragile, broken heart
and still think you are the
greatest, most amazing person.
i think that's absolutely beautiful.

morning...

one in the morning
my eyes wont rest
you're still on my mind
and it's making me stressed.

do you really love me,
like you say you do?
or is it something you said
to help me get through.

i question my sanity
more than you'd think
and when i'm alone
it's all that i think.

you keep me at peace
without you i'd drown
but why do i smile,
when i know i should frown.

one day...

terrifying...

it's
absolutely
terrifying
to let someone in
let them see
the darkest corners of your
soul
the reasons why you cry
and why they make you
so happy

it's absolutely terrifying
because
they might run away
with your secrets
and never give them
back.

questions...

lying in bed so closely
you looked at me with
so many questions
in your eyes

what are you thinking

can you feel my heartbeat

why are you smiling

how are you feeling

with my thoughts
stuck on you and
my heartbeat matching
yours, i could do
nothing but smile
because for once,
i felt full

and when i looked
at you again, the only
question left to
answer was

do you feel it too

and i hoped my
eyes said

everywhere.

anais nin...

something changes the moment you decide you've found a person you are ready to reveal parts of your soul to. something stands out and makes the moment unique. a profound multidimensional clarity resembling a piece of carefully gathered stardust; as if you are whispering "finally" and your eyes fill with light and spontaneity. as if you do not care whether your heart will melt or crumble in the process because your brief courage undoes your tremendous fear of disbelief. you live for these moments; for you are, maybe for one second or more, sweetly forced to surrender yourself to unconditional intimacy. a moment of psychological reward smashing all self imposed disciplines founded on terror. this is all you need.

little things...

as i grow up i start to realize
life isn't as simple as it seems to be
parents aren't always right
teachers aren't always wise
friends aren't always true
sometimes people can be so cruel

as i grow up i start to realize
life has a funny way of making you learn
parents quarrel
teachers are bias
friends always leave
sometimes you gotta be your own hero

as i grow up i start to realize
life can actually be so simple
people should learn to forgive or forget
because at the end of the day
when you turn your head and look back
all those unhappiness seem so insignificant
but yet you already lost a great deal of time
sulking over those

meaningless
little
things.

the one thing i know for sure...

the one thing i know for sure is that feelings are rarely mutual, so when they are, drop everything, forget belongings and expectations, forget the games, the two days between texts, th hard to gets because this is it, this is what the entire world is after and you've stumbled upon it by chance, by accident--so take a deep breath, take a step forward, now run, collide like planets in the system of a dying sun, embrace each other with both arms and let all the rules, the opinions and common sense crash down around you. because this is love kid, and it's all yours. believe me, you're in for one hell of a ride, after all--this is the one thing i know for sure.

walsh...

dear human:
you've got it all wrong. you didn't come here to master unconditional love. that is where you came from and where you'll return. you came here to learn personal love. universal love. messy love. sweaty love. crazy love. broken love. whole love. infused with divinity. lived through the grace of stumbling. demonstrated through the beauty of...messing up. often. you didn't come here to be perfect. you already are. you came here to be gorgeously human. flawed and fabulous. and then to rise again into remembering. but unconditional love? stop telling that story. love, in truth, doesn't need ANY other adjectives. it doesn't require the condition of perfection. it only asks that you show up. and do your best. that you stay present and feel fully. that you shine and fly and laugh and cry and hurt and heal and fall and get back up and play and work and live and die as YOU. it's enough. it's plenty.

electric...

do you remember how the electric
spark that we felt when we first
touched never went away?

that lightning lives inside me
still an will always shock you
ever so slightly when any piece
of me touches any piece of you
for any reason at all?

put your fingers to the mine
and watch the sparks
dance.

-tyler knott gregson

take my breath...

there will be dozens
of people
who will take your
breath away
but the one
who reminds you
to breathe
is the one you
should keep.

understand...

grab a plate and throw it on the ground.
-okay, done.
did it break?
-yes.
now say sorry to it.
-sorry.
did it go back to the way it was before?
-no.
do you understand now?

priorities...

i want somebody
with a sharp intellect
and a heart from hell.
somebody with
eyes like starfire
and a mouth with a kiss
like a bottomless well.
but mostly
i just want someone
who will love me.
when i do not
know how to love myself.

dirty work...

"Dirty Work-Halestorm"

Get on your knees and let the games begin
Bow to your queen and I will crown your head
'Cause I can make you every inch a king
Before I do tell me, tell me what's in it for me?

I need someone young, willing and able
You need someone old enough to know better
I want you to

Do my dirty work, do my dirty work, oh
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, c'mon
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work

Let me be your labor of love
My royal garden needs a hired man
Plant your seed, darlin'
My roses are in your hands

I need someone young, willing and able
You need someone old enough to know better
I want you to

Do my dirty work, do my dirty work, oh
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, c'mon

Do my dirty work, do my dirty work, oh
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, c'mon

Do my dirty work, do my dirty work
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work
Do my dirty work, do my dirty work

extraordinary...

your gorgeous chaos was
a danger to my beautiful
ordinary life, then suddenly,
we became beautifully
extraordinary together.

...

no matter what...

"i love you",
you said,
and i waited for
"but..."

but instead came
your arms
and a
"no matter what".

dignity...

“Dignity
/ˈdignitē/ noun
1. The moment you realize that the person you cared for has nothing intellectually or spiritually to offer you, but a headache.
2. The moment you realize God had greater plans for you that don’t involve crying at night or sad Pinterest quotes.
3. The moment you stop comparing yourself to others because it undermines your worth, education and your parent’s wisdom.
4. The moment you live your dreams, not because of what it will prove or get you, but because that is all you want to do. People’s opinions don’t matter.
5. The moment you realize that no one is your enemy, except yourself.
6. The moment you realize that you can have everything you want in life. However, it takes timing, the right heart, the right actions, the right passion and a willingness to risk it all. If it is not yours, it is because you really didn’t want it, need it or God prevented it.
7. The moment you realize the ghost of your ancestors stood between you and the person you loved. They really don’t want you mucking up the family line with someone that acts anything less than honorable.
8. The moment you realize that happiness was never about getting a person. They are only a helpmate towards achieving your life mission.
9. The moment you believe that love is not about losing or winning. It is just a few moments in time, followed by an eternity of situations to grow from.
10. The moment you realize that you were always the right person. Only ignorant people walk away from greatness.”
